NDLEA Seizes 164,750 Pills of Tramadol, Arrests 7 Suspects Four States
In furtherance of its avowed onslaught against illicit drugs peddling and crack down on drug dealers across the country, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it has seized illicit substances and made seven suspects in connection with drug peddling.NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday, March 26, 2923 in Abuja, announced that the Agnecy seized 164,750 pills of tramadol and other illicit substances in Taraba State.Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd.)He also informed that “two suspects named Henry Abuchi and Daniel Ugwoke were arrested when found with 96 compressed blocks of Indian hemp weighing 82kg concealed inside jumbo bags of cassava flour were also recovered by their operatives at Basket Market in Asaba, Delta State”.Babafemi further informed that “we also recovered 45 blocks of compressed Indian hemp weighing 23kg from one Abubakar Muhammad along the Okene-Abuja Highway in Kogi State on March 21,” adding that three suspects were also arrested in Lagos.“A female drug dealer, Mrs. Kudirat Bello, was arrested at Igbesa in Ogun on March 20 with different quantities of methamphetamine, Indian hemp, Rophynol, and N119,600 monetary exhibits.”Director of Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Femi Babafemi“In Lagos, more than 1,000kg of Indian hemp were recovered from three suspects, Bolaji Adesina, Femi Ojo, and Jamiu Useni during a raid at Mushin.”Since the assumption of office by its current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd.), the NDLEA has gone fully aggressive and remain bullish in its fight against drug peddling and proliferation, with its mantra being to save Nigerians from destructive substances.
