President Bola Tinubu has called for an immediate halt to the nationwide protests that have gripped Nigeria since Thursday.

“I hereby enjoin protesters and the organizers to suspend any further protests and create room for dialogue, which I have always acceded to at the slightest opportunity,” Tinubu stated.

The ongoing demonstrations, organized under the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement, have primarily been fueled by rising costs of living and widespread hunger.

The 10-day planned protest has escalated into violence, resulting in the destruction of property and the tragic loss of at least 17 lives.

President Tinubu stressed the need for unity, urging all citizens to work together in reshaping the nation’s future.

“The country requires all hands on deck and needs all citizens, regardless of age, party, tribe, religion, or other divides, to work together in reshaping our common destiny,” he said.

As the nation reels from the effects of the protests, the President’s call for dialogue and collaboration seeks to pave the way for a peaceful resolution and a better future for all Nigerians.
